Looks like the creaters of Viagra are about to get rammed themselves…

NEW YORK (AFP) - A leading American AIDS group said it was suing Pfizer, the producer of Viagra, accusing the company of increasing the spread of sexually-transmitted diseases through “irresponsible” marketing.

AIDS Healthcare Foundation, the largest AIDS healthcare, prevention and education provider in the United States, accused Pfizer of deliberately pitching the erectile-dysfunction drug at men who did not need it.

“Pfizer’s direct to consumer marketing of Viagra as a drug to enhance sexual performance is primarily aimed at men who don’t necessarily suffer from a clinical diagnosis of erectile dysfunction,” the group’s president, Michael Weinstein, said in a statement.

“We believe it is not only irresponsible, but also illegal, especially in light of the drug’s known use as part of a ‘circuit party cocktail’ of drugs that is fueling the spread of STDs and HIV,” he added.

Viagra has become increasingly popular on the club circuit to counteract the side effect of erectile dysfunction associated with the use of party drugs such as ecstasy, amphetamine and crystal methamphetamine.

The case is being brought under a Californian law and accuses Pfizer of “unlawful, unfair and fraudulent business practices.”

The lawsuit alleges that Pfizer’s “unlawful and deceptive marketing of its erectile dysfunction drug Viagra has caused an increase in the spread of sexually transmitted diseases including, but not limited to, HIV/AIDS.”

It further accuses Pfizer of maintaining its marketing strategy despite what the group says is “clear evidence of its illegality and harmful effects.”

Weinstein said the lawsuit was aimed to force Pfizer to stop advertising the medication “in the reckless manner it has been doing” and require the company to undertake a public information campaign about the alleged risks of Viagra.

The lawsuit specifically outlines what the AIDS Healthcare Foundation calls “the increased risks of transmission of sexually transmitted diseases associated with using Pfizer’s Viagra.”

Pfizer dismissed the allegations, saying in a statement that its advertising made clear Viagra does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases, while rejecting claims it was promoting the recreational use of the drug.

“Pfizer does not promote Viagra for recreational use. We have always been committed to safe and appropriate use of Viagra for the treatment of erectile dysfunction,” the statement said.

“Pfizer recognizes that the transmission of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases is a significant public health issue,” it added.

In late 2005, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation demanded Pfizer withdraw an advertising campaign that suggested using Viagra to ring in the new year.

“What are you doing New Year’s Eve?,” said the advertisement, which appeared in national newspapers, showing a middle-aged man with greying hair.

“It is an outrage that, by referencing the biggest party night of the year, Pfizer would employ an advertising strategy that encourages the use of Viagra as a ‘party drug’,” Weinstein said at the time.

Viagra appeared on the market in 1998 and has since earned Pfizer billions of dollars in sales.

But despite being the world’s biggest drugmaker in terms of revenues, Pfizer is currently suffering as generic drugmakers pump out rivals to some of its best-selling medications and on Monday unveiled 10,000 job cuts.

Well, I guess it would make sense that a drug designed to help people have sex would lead to the spread of AIDS and other STDs… but c’mon! Viagra as a party drug? Puh-lease.

So I guess some condom company in Hong Kong is trying to innovate by adding smooth tunes to their latex.

Forget chocolates or roses this Valentine’s Day — a gift of musical condoms is bound to be more entertaining.

Hong Kong’s Ondo Creation, which makes designer condoms, hopes its Idom sheathes will put a more romantic spin on safe sex — and reduce the risk of a slap on the face that a pack of six might elicit among some conservative Asians.

The Idom itself doesn’t sing — but the mint, strawberry, chocolate and banana flavored condoms come in an attractive package with a music CD to get you in the mood for love.

“We create an environment for lovers who would like to try a different experience,” said Victor Tsang who runs Ondo Creation.

“We try to create products that are not embarrassing, but very trendy and hip. It’s a lifestyle product,” he added.

My only question is… how do you fit the CD in your wallet?  =)

We all know of the famous Red Light District in Amsterdam where all the sex workers hang out.  Well, now it looks like the city is erecting (ha haa) a statue in honor of all these  hard working women (and men, apparently) who probably do more for the local economy than all the legalized drugs do.

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - Amsterdam’s red-light district will soon get a new attraction: a statue to honor prostitutes around the world.

The statue, designed by artist Els Rijerse, will likely be unveiled at the end of March, Dutch news agency ANP reported.

“In many countries, prostitutes struggle and people have no respect for them whatsoever. The statue is meant to give all those men and women strength,” Mariska Majoor, a former prostitute who commissioned the statue, told ANP.

ANP said the statue, made of bronze, shows a woman who confidently looks out into the world.

So prostitutes everywhere can be satisfied to know that their work has now been immortalized.  Though, I’m thinking they could have done a better job of what the statue could look like.  =)

I’ve been selling the Art Of Approaching for a couple years now, and it just seems to be getting bigger and more popular as time goes on.

For some reason I found this article rather interesting.  As a tech geek at heart, I’ve been on the fence about the Blu Ray vs. HD-DVD format war.  I want a PS3, that plays the Blu Ray format, but I also don’t want to commit to something that’s going the way of Betamax and Divx.  The Porn Industry is always on the cutting edge of technology, and the notion that their support of any single format could be the deciding factor in that format’s dominance in the marketplace is very intriguing to me.

Las Vegas (NV) - Knowing their audience quite well, the adult entertainment industry holds their annual get together in Las Vegas to coincide with the CES. There is also a very pertinent crossover between the adult and tech industries - porn has a tendency to drive, and be driven, by technology. Which means HD DVD when it comes to high-def.

Quite famously in the war between Betamax and VHS the latter won especially because the adult industry preferred it. If you’ve been around long enough, you probably remember that the very early home video rental stores were primarily responsible for driving Betamax out of the market. And those stores carried almost exclusively pornographic content.

Although the market environments from then do not really compare to today’s home video market, parallels are drawn between the Betamax-VHS battle to the ongoing and escalating fight between Blu-ray and HD DVD. One of the key questions at this year’s CES actually is “Which high-def format will win the current format war - Blu-ray or HD DVD?” Surprisingly, it seems that there is no such question in the minds of the adult industry luminaries.

Putting myself through the arduous trek through the floor of the adult expo I did a quick straw poll on, the virtues of HD DVD versus Blu-ray, and the answer from a dozen companies, big and small, including Pink Visual and Bangbros editor-in-chief, is going into a single direction: HD DVD is the preferred format. Period.

One of the big problems they have with Blu-ray is its expense, followed by its market share. “Blu-ray has superior quality, yes,” said a spokesperson for porn studio Bangbros, “but HD DVD is easier to produce, cheaper to produce and there are more HD DVD players in homes than there are Blu-ray players, for example in the Xbox 360.”

Pink Visual heavily complained about the fact that Blu-ray discs cannot be replicated and a range of other studios, who did not want to be mentioned by name indicated that the cost of going with Blu-ray cancels the technology as a possible HD solution for this industry. “Only bigger studios can afford Blu-ray, and even then it’s not economical,” we were told.

It would seem that either Blu-ray has to do some catching up very quickly. But we got the strange feeling that HD DVD has won the format war already, at least in the porn industry.

How insane is that?  That the adult industry can literally help a new technology dominate the marketplace?

Gives a new meaning to the phrase “pussy power.”

Okay…

So there were some stirrings going on earlier over the Top 10 list about the rivalry going on between newcomer Mehow and Mystery Method.  The rumor was Mehow was able to steal Mystery away from his own company to team up with him.  (Wierd, I know, but that’s how it seemed.)  I called this feuding with Mehow, jokingly, the “Mystery Method Civil War.”

It appears I was more right than I knew.

It looks like Mystery has launched a new website recently called The Venusian Arts.  It’s a very Double Your Dating-esque site (even has a “Kiss Test” type thing going on) that says it was founded by Mystery himself, along with longtime Mystery Method cohorts Lovedrop and Matador.  You can find more information about it here.

Anyway, at first glance it might just seem to be another Mystery Method site right?

Wrong.

The site’s primarily offering workshops, in addition to the promise of a new book.  So why would Mystery Method open up a new site offering competing workshops and products when it already has it’s primary website and workshop business well established?

Answer:  It wouldn’t.

I got a text message from Mystery over New Years saying that the rumors I’ve been hearing are inaccurate, but that he’s so emotionally detached he didn’t feel like revealing what was really up.  The last time I saw really emotionally detached was when he was splitting with Real Social Dynamics and Project Hollywood was self destructing.
Also, take into account the fact that Mystery Method recently changed their website from www.mysterymethod.com to www.themysterymethod.com.  Why the change?  After all, mysterymethod.com is a well established website!  I’ve heard rumblings that there’s some legal issues going on over that domain name, which was originally owned by Mystery.  That, coupled with this new website makes me think there might be something going on here…

Is Mystery splitting from Mystery Method?  His own company? If so, for what reason?  Is this new site just an extension of his business, or something new entirely?  What role is Mehow playing in all this - if any?  Has there been a split between Mystery and his MM workshop crew?

Is Mystery Method in a state of civil war?

This is something that will definitely be worth watching…

Ever since I announced my new course, Renegade Rapport, I’ve been getting a LOT of questions about it.

(After all, there’s HUGE interest in it, and not enough information!)

Well, here are my answers…

Without a doubt, the most frequent question I got was:

1.  Joe, dude, you ARE too secretive. Enlighten us man, what IS Renegade Report?

That’s the million dollar question isn’t it?

Well, let me clear this up right here, right now…

Renegade Rapport is a system by which a man can rapidly create emotional connections with women and make them experience powerful emotional states of attraction.

That’s the SHORT answer.

I could go into a long answer, but I think the other questions do a good job of fleshing it out.

2.  Isn’t Rapport something you either have or you don’t have?

This is true.  Either you have rapport with someone, or you don’t have rapport.  However, rapport can be CREATED with pretty much anyone, and because of this, you open up a lot of possibilities for yourself.

One of the most frequent problems guys come to me with is “shyness.”  They say they are too shy too approach, or they get lost easily in crowded bars, clubs, parties, etc.

Yet, when you are with your friends, are you shy?  NO!  No one is shy with their friends.  That’s because there is a level of rapport present there that allows you to be relaxed and comfortable with them.

Now, imagine being able to create that kind of rapport with women.  BOOM!  Shyness instantly melts away.  And the great thing is, it’s entirely possible to use these techniques without have to talk all that much!  So to many “shy guys” out there, this will be a godsend.

3.  I would like to know what makes your program different from and better than other NLP programs? What does Renegade Rapport bring new to the market? Some how I get the feeling that this is some more BULLSH*T. Because first of all you said that you had a secret inside the free ebook. The secret is some new product as usual.  I’M INTERESTED because I’m more lazy than you but please let me know what is new and how tested it is. I do not want to be memorizing stuff.

Hey now, I take offence to that.  I’m willing to bet I am WAY more lazy that you!  lol.

Seriously, part of the reason I started down the path of Renegade Rapport was BECAUSE I was so lazy!  I hate to have to memorize pages and pages of routines, patterns, lines, etc. just to meet girls.

And that’s the beauty of Renegade Rapport.  You don’t really need to memorize ANYTHING.  It’s a completely conceptual system.  Once you understand a few fundamental concepts, you’re ready to go.

And if you want to go even deeper into it, you can.  The system is there.

Understand:  Renegade Rapport isn’t straight NLP.  You’re not going to find a “Rapport Building pattern” in here.

There are some fundamentals based around NLP concepts, but this system is about learning to emotionally CONNECT with other human beings, and then LEAD them to where you want to go emotionally.

And it is an extremely FOCUSED system.  You won’t get bogged down with stuff like “anchoring,” or “synesthesia,” nor will you have to have a PhD in psychology to pull it off.

I designed this system to be EASY to understand and use.  And these concepts are fundamental to the successful use of the Self Mastery Method.

4.  Renegade Rapport seems very reminiscent of the rapport phase of the Juggler Method.  I saw that you listed Juggler on your latest top 10, so were you already aware of this?  Either way, I’m very interested in how the two will complement each other.

Not to take anything away from Juggler - who is a fantastic teacher - or anyone else out there who teaches dating and seduction.

But there is one MAJOR difference here…

In my system, Rapport is NOT a “phase.”

It’s not a step you take on your way to something else.  If you read through the free Self-Mastery ebook, you’ll understand that I feel every step that happens in dating and seduction is BASED on rapport.

In that sense, knowing how to create and sustain rapport - with ANYONE - is fundamental to success.

That is the big difference I feel my course has to offer from the others out there.

To me, Rapport is the foundation upon which everything else is built.  To most others, it’s a step in a process.

When you see Renegade Rapport for yourself, and how powerful the techniques are, you’ll understand what I mean.

5.  Your course really intrigued me! It sounds interesting and I definitely would like to learn more about it.  My question is:  “What is the main topic of the RR?”

The main topic of the course is how to quickly create powerful connections with women, and then deepen those connections in such a way that you are able to create powerful feelings of attraction.

The word “Rapport” might be misleading, because a lot of people don’t really understand what it means.

Rapport is simply the process of “falling into synch” with someone else.  Feeling what they feel, thinking how they think, acting like they act, etc.

But there is great POWER in that process.  Because once you are in synch with that person, THEY are in synch with YOU as well!

Which means they feel what you feel, they think how you think, and they act like you act!

My course is about showing you how to lead a person to feel what you want them to, and act how you’d like them to act - all through controlling your own feelings, thoughts, and emotions.

(And its easier than you think!)

This is how naturals seem to “magically” get women.  It’s not because they act all “alpha.”  It’s actually because they have a very quick way to establish powerful rapport with others.  And showing you EXACTLY how to do this is the main topic of Renegade Rapport.

6.  Hey Joseph , why all the teaser ads? I know you will eventually want some money for this product, so why do you need to jerk everyone around telling them it is going to be for free? Just put it out there. I did enjoy the art of approaching though it could have been a bit longer.

Well, the reason for the tease is that I’m still putting the finishing touches on the course, but I also want to educate people on what it will be about.

Creating a course like this and making sure it can be made available to people is an EXPENSIVE process, so yes, I will be charging for it.

But don’t worry, it won’t be a lot of money!  When I worked on the Annihilation Method with Neil Strauss, we sold that product for $3779.

Renegade Rapport won’t even come CLOSE to being that much!  it will be quite affordable.

I never claimed that Renegade Rapport would be free.  The Self-Mastery Method ebook was free.  I suggest you read that ebook very closely, because I reveal a LOT of fundamentals in there.  It’s not a detail-rich book, but it gives you everything you need to know to gain success with women.

Renegade Rapport and the Art of Approaching both go in depth into their respective technologies.  So if you want to learn more about how to do the Self-Mastery Method, you can check them out.

As for the Art of Approaching being too short, keep in mind that it’s just the first step!  Renegade Rapport is the next extension of what I’m teaching, and a lot will be built off that technology.

7.  Dear Joseph, I am very interested in your Renegade Rapport. I believe that body language, posture and inner frame is overlooked in the seduction community, and I would be grateful to know whether body language is included in the progressive rapport seduction you will be presenting, and if you can reveal the transition from attraction to progressive rapport building to physical seduction happens from a body language perspective in the Renegade Rapport.

I agree with you, this is something that is VERY over-looked and trivialized in seduction teaching (much like approaching was before I came along, now everyone has their own courses on approaching women. =)

Renegade Rapport will give you the means to generate attraction, which will lead to physical seduction.  Everything falls under the umbrella of rapport.  If you don’t have some type of rapport with a girl, you cannot get her attracted to you.

Body language is a part of the Renegade Rapport process only in the respect that I show you how to gain non-verbal rapport with people.  It’s actually quite a cool technique.

8.  How does your new approach differ from Style/Mystery method or Lance Masons bantering + kino escalation and proper body language? Keep up the good work, and I’m looking forward to hearing more about Renegade Rapport!

Mystery and Style rely a great deal on memorized stories, routines, tricks, and gimmicks.  Not to take anything away from them - their stuff DOES work - but it’s too complicated for me.

I’m a simple man who hates memorizing routines, playing mind games with women, carrying props around, and dressing up in expensive and/or weird clothing.

Meeting women shouldn’t be an exercises in performance art.  It should be as simple as two people connecting with each other!  And THAT’S what Renegade Rapport teaches.

I’m not saying kino and body language should be ignored, but no matter how cocky and funny your banter is, no matter how much you touch a girl, or how you position your body - if there is no emotional connection there, you ain’t gonna have a success!

But more importantly, if there IS an emotional connection there - how do you deepen it, lead it to attraction, and keep from losing it?

Again:  All covered in Renegade Rapport.

9.  Will, Renegade Rapport, work in loud clubs and bars?

Yes, Renegade Rapport will work anywhere.  The subway, the bus, the bar, the club, the book store, the grocery store - doesn’t matter.  I’ve even used it at the gym.

There are verbal and non-verbal aspects to Renegade Rapport, so it’s not entirely dependent on language, so being in a loud club or bar is not an obstacle.

10.  If you had to give me an estimate of how consistent your system is for picking up girls. What would the % be?

That’s hard to say.  I know many pick-up artists like to break their stats down for their students, but it’s hard for me to qualify what your success will be.

Also, a lot depends on the woman you are interacting with.  It IS possible to get rapport with anyone you want, but as I share with you in the course - there are some people you will not WANT to get rapport with.

Part of the beauty of this system is that you can experience what others are feeling while in rapport.  If you get rapport with a girl, and you feel she’s angry, or bitter, or up to no good, you’re going to want to WALK AWAY!

In terms of the girls I’ve met who aren’t negative, I have a 99.9% success rate in establishing rapport with them.

Once there, then I decide if I want to move into other emotional states, such as attraction.

I go very in depth into this in my course.  I can tell you that I’ve had a LOT of success with this method.

It covers a lot of stuff.  Rapport can easily be done over the phone, and I do talk about that.  I also talk about how to virtually eliminate flaking with it as well.

14.  Is your project came from a book called “Social Intelligence” by Daniel Goleman? In your audio, you talk about synchronicity which is familiar to me. What are your sources in making your ebook?

The project didn’t come from any book.  I’ve never heard of Daniel Goleman.  Synchronicity is something I learned from an NLP trainer I studied with.  My sources are various individuals, and my experience.  You won’t find a whole lot of academic stuff in this course.  It’s all meant for practical application.

Everyone’s favorite Doctor of Love, Dr. Paul, is putting on a new seminar in February.

Okay, so lots of guys out there use Myspace to meet women.  In fact, my cousin met his current girlfriend through Myspace, and I know more than a few PUAs who use Myspace to hook up with numerous girls.  It’s a great website.

But it has it’s drawbacks.

Lately I’ve been getting a flood of friend requests from super-hot girls.  But when I would go to check out their profiles, a blue screen would pop up with a friendly picture of Tom on there, asking me to download the “Free Myspace Browser” so I could view some good old fashioned adult content.

I thought this thing was legit, mostly due to the picture of Tom on it, until my spider-sense started tingling.  So I went to Google and did a search on this free browser I needed to download, and sure enough - it was EVIL!

Apparently, had I downloaded and installed this free browser, my computer would have instantly been inundated with adware.  Grrrrr!

So I did a bit more checking, and found out that Myspace has been targeted by hackers and spammers as a way to get to people, and that since most of this stuff comes through your “friends” profiles, people aren’t as warey as they usually are.

That’s right. It’s time to list the Top 10 PUAs of the year! As you know, it’s become something of a tradition of mine to go out and meet as many pick-up artists as I can, and then rank them based on how I percieve their skills to be.

Of course, because I’m the judge, you won’t see me on the list ever. But you will see an honest appraisal of many of the guys out there. Remember: just because someone SAYS they’re a pick up artist, doesn’t really mean they are one. After all, the community has had it’s fair share of frauds in the past. (Need I remind anyone of the “guru” who created an audio series based on his ability to bang hookers in Tijuana? Didn’t think so.)

I’ve been getting emails about this, so I figured I’d write a quick post about it…

Every year, I release a top 10 ranking of the best pick up artists out there, and on December 30th, I’ll be releasing the list of the Top 10 PUAs of 2006!

And this year it’s sure to be a controversial one!  So don’t miss it.

Spread the word…

I heard through the grapevine that things over at the Mystery Method headquarters are being shook up.

No one can deny that Mystery Method is the leading dating/seduction workshop company, with their frontman Mystery himself being the main attraction.  (Hey, it is his method after all, ain’t it?)
But there’s a rumor circulating around that Mystery is splitting with his longtime business manager Nick Savoy, the “brains” behind the business of the Mystery Method company.  Instead, I hear Mystery is thinking of teaming up with rising star PUA Mehow, to be managed by Mehow’s manager, a guy I know only as “Rob.”

Now, from what I understand, Savoy is intregral to the growth of Mystery Method of the last few years, so I can’t really understand Mystery’s logic behind splitting with him.  He’s done a bang-up job, especially when working with such a prickly personality as Mystery (I love the guy to death, but try working with him sometime.  It can be a real test in patience!).

I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Mehow, but I have met his fast-talking manager Rob once or twice before.  I got the impression that he’s trying to be “Nick Cho Reborn,” in the sense that he wants to represent all the major Seduction Gurus in the field and bring them under one banner.

However, that certainly didn’t work out for Nick “Papa” Cho, and it probably won’t work out for Rob either.  Back when Papa represented Mystery, he tried to fold Mystery into the “Real Social Dynamics” banner and put him on a level playing field with people like Tyler Durden and other RSD Instructors.

That, of course, didn’t fly with Mystery.

Mystery likes being in the spotlight, and it’s in his blood that he must be the star of the show.  Like the movie Highlander, when it comes to Mystery and guru-dom,  There Can Be Only One.  Once Mystery saw Papa intended for him and Tyler to share the spotlight, he bolted (and rightly so).  I imagine the same thing is going to happen once he gets into this Mehow business, since Mehow is being touted as the “next Tyler Durden.”  (C’mon, do we really need another Tyler Durden?)

Not to mention the fact that should Mystery split with Savoy, there’s probably a number of legal hassles to deal with.  Mystery Method Inc. is a seperate entity from Mystery himself, so if the split actually occurs, Mystery Method Inc. could conceivably continue on WITHOUT Mystery, which means all his products and workshops and the like would continue to be sold without the man himself being involved.

Can Mystery Method survive without Mystery?  Can Mystery become as successful with Mehow in his corner, or will he self-destruct?  And what exactly does this power play by Mehow and Rob mean to the community at large?

Well, personally, my spider sense is telling me this could be a big ol’ mess.
